EDIT:

The story was edited overnight :Q I've emailed the BBC asking for an explanation as to where Superman went :frown:

he videotape also shows a man in a Superman costume walking around the car, but he did not stop to help the driver or any of the victims. His identity is unknown.

Priceless

Sounds like Superman didn't quite get there in time to stop the speeding car... :)

good thing she made that mistake there rather than on the highway or on a busy street loaded with pedestrians. Maybe this will be that epiphany for her to retire from driving.

What do they mean his identity is unknown? It's Clark Kent, duh!

Of course you have to make a deal about it because it's a woman.

If someone robs a bank and they are black everyone has to mention the fact that it's a black person.

no one is blaming you and you can't deny that a woman crashed. right? i remember a while ago, this old guy over 80 seriously hurt some people. he never went to jail cause his health was deteriorating. so WTF was he doing behind the wheel?

there should be a maximum age limit for driving. above a certain age, most people do not have the mental/physical ability to continue driving.

This has nothing to do with the OP or even the article just the ASSumption that surrounds EVERYTHING.

Why does everyone have to resort to personal attacks EVERY time instead of the topic?

EDIT: I agree past a certain age people should be required to take a reflex test or something geared along the line of ability to drive safely.

Honestly I'm glad I don't drive. :)

If you read the thread, you'd see that we're making more of a deal out of the superman appearance than the fact that it was a woman. I didn't see a single comment that was like "Well theres you problem! It was a woman driving!"

You were the first person in this thread to talk about her gender. I would also bet that if you take a poll here most people would blame the accident on her age, not her gender.

Well perhaps Superman himself didn't bother to help because it was an old woman. ;)

Kind of ironic that he didn't stop to offer assistance? Blame the phone companies for getting rid of phone booths. :p

I'd be willing to say both.

Yes there's another thread about (woman) drivers.

Funny thing is all the crazy drivers I've seen a man has been behind the wheel. Mind you 95% of this has been non U.S. I won't get into NYC - that place is quite the mixed bag. People will actually slam the brakes and get out of the car and yell at people - both men and women.
