As much as I hate the idea of a trade war with china, I hate the thought of china doing whatever they want and growing their economy at the expense of everyone else.

You could always do what China is doing. Make the dollar worthless and expand USA exports.

Actually, the US dollar was dropping really fast a couple years ago and people were freaking out. I guess making your money worthless is actually a really really bad thing. Who cares if China does it.

How bout instead of pointing to China, our esteemed leaders point the finger where it belongs? Implement steep tariffs on all American products that are imported. You know, force Intel, Apple, Dell etc.. to actually manufacture their goods in the friggen country they're doing business in. It's one thing for an American company to set up a manufacturing facility in China to service China, it's something else entirely to set up manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Canada, Indonesia, etc. to service the US. Of course, this wouldn't please the true constituents (read corporations) as they can no longer benefit from China's (and others) shit policies. Oh, crap, that $3 inflatable beach ball might cost $5 here now. I know, devastating to our economy right? No sense in having $3 beach balls when you can't get a job to buy milk because everything is made where labor is $3 a day huh?

No need for tariffs, we need to manipulate our currency just like the Chinese. Print money. Let Beijing choke on it if it wants to try to maintain its peg. If they want to play chicken, their growing economy will go into hyperinflation before our stagnant one, let them deal with the unrest this creates.

If China unpegs currency it's going to pop up in value, lowering inflation. They are buying up US treasuries to keep their currency weak relative to the dollar. If USA prints money and devalues dollar, China will have to devalue yuan to keep the peg, resulting in higher inflation.

Since our entitlement programs are adjusted for inflation you just cost us an extra few hundred trillion bucks. Good plan.
