US vs France Women's World Cup!

France is really putting the heat on us but their shots when released just don't look like they have a chance -- they have 10+ shots on goal at this point. US has about 6 shots on goal every shot sure looks like its going in vs. the France ones.

Simply put though the US better get their defense tightened up.

The crappy weather is affecting play though.

yeah france has more shots on goal but they have sucked. US has less but they have been better. 2 that should have went in
 
Can't believe the french player missed that header to tie the game! Wtf, lol.

US is so fast to the ball and such great passers...unlike the US men's team. This team is a treat to watch.
 
Yep the back heel pass on the run for the goal was beautiful. Then the light pass across and the subtle deflection from Cheney for the goal. Proof that you don't have to wail on the ball to score. If only my teams could learn this one.

Here's hoping we can pop in 2 quick goals in the second half and then get some subs in the game. It would be nice if Abby, Boxx, etc could get some rest for Sunday and these other girls get some experience.

Saurbraun (Buehler's replacement for today) is really doing well and she is fast too. I almost think she needs to be in there against Sweden on Sun (assuming that's how this plays out) as Sweden out ran us completely in group play.
 
Hope had to defend the player, it sure looked like she was free and would have reached the ball. Chances of that ball sneaking inside the far post were pretty slim. Not sure she could have done much, crappy defense though.

Maybe she could have been more aggressive and come at the ball, but I can't really see with this screwed up stream.

she needed to play that is if it was going to be touched, the cross going in from there was not very likely


its not the D persay, but france owns the midfield, so they control play now

we are just starting now to look like we are attempting to possess the ball
