US Troops to Mexico?

This may be just a talking point after losing alot of steam sounding like an idiot in recent debates... but Rick Perry is saying he could send US troops to combat cartels in Mexico if elected.

Now, when you look at the fact that we're occupying 2 otherwise harmless countries across the world while we have a country next door that is running around decapitating people on a daily basis and posting a horrific account of their deeds on the internet, you'd think the logical move would be to protect our own country and not be way overseas.

I do however wonder what sort of backlash we could face in america if our military went south of the border and started whiping out cartels...

Outside of my concern of cartel backlash inside of the US, I think it is a logical move to take them out.

Or just legalize some drugs and make drug laws less beneficial to cartels in the first place.

it's a demand driven problem. Lots of dopers and druggies in the US fueling the grief and misery in mex. All they care about is getting dizzy.

Drone strikes...... am I right?

Yeah....

You can only watch so many chainsaw decapitation videos before you see how messed up the situation in mexico is. It's all fueled by our huge demand for ILLEGAL drugs.

And in fact w\ Marjiuana, and Meth and add to it the Fast/Furious mess... we created the cartel problem to begin with.

Marijuana : shouldn't even be illegal so long as you celebrate substances like alcohol and tobacco.

Meth, shouldn't be legal... but what we did here in america is we tightened down supplies that are key to making meth, and in turn cut production IN THE STATES. This in turn pushed production south of the border and now instead of buying meth from ol billy in the trailer park, you're buying it from Juan's cartel who doesn't care about killing entire families to make their money.

I don't understand how someone as dumb as him can even run. Who is giving him funds?

Rich people who know that he will do their bidding if he's elected. Look at all the cronyism he's done as Gov.

Same type of idiots that pay & support Sarah Palin, I'm not buying her books and paying her salary @ Faux News and she's not even running !

Not surprised Perry trying to win the NEOCON vote now. Since his blunder with illegal immigration he needed something to regain momentum. I hope Perry gets now where near the whitehouse.

For the folks that use guys like Perry, individual initiative, independent thought and the ability to get things done on their own are deal killers.

All these people need are personable charismatic obliging whores with a doctorate in selling snake oil to represent them and their ideological agenda.

Perry WAS that guy, or maybe still is, but he choked under pressure, failed the practical test and is just about ready to get unceremoneously thrown under the proverbial herd of stampeding panicking pachyderms.

The portly guy from Nuu Joizee has got a firm grip on both Perry's and the King Maker's wrinkly sack of marbles and is squeezing them hard and soft for everything he can get out of whoring himself to them unless someone else takes his place in line.

Life is good.

Taking the fight to the cartels would probably push the cartels to fight us here. Would we be willing to deploy troops in California, Texas, New Mexico, etc in order to fight the violence there, or we would we try to leave it to our own police forces?

I wonder if there would come a time when the cartels are better financed than our own federal security forces....or are we already there?

I'm sure Americans would love to see their servicemen executed on TV and have their corpses paraded around a shithole country they have no business being in.

Maybe that's what they're hoping for so that they can declare war?

In the old days you could buy nearly whatever drug you wanted from the local pharm, there was trust but there was also stricter laws if you did a crime there was none of this "The drugs made me do it" pleas accepted. Your body was your own to defile any way that you saw fit. Bring back the old days ways!

Candidate Perry cannot start a boarder war. President Perry can.

Sending troops into Mexico is a bad idea. We don't really have much to gain from it anyway. We can use them to shore up our boarder security, but that can be done without ours crossing the Rio Grande.

What I dont understand is why people go to Mexico on Vacation???

The cartels probably own the Hotels and resorts they are staying in.

We are already at war with Mexican Invaders.

Many drug laws are all about controlling and taxing people.

I love all the disease that the invaders carry accross the border.
