US Torturing prisoners?

Note: This is not about the Iraq-conflict.

What do you think about this? Is it true? If it isn't, why not? If it is true, is it accepable?

Notable quotes for the lazy

The men's death certificates, made public earlier this week, showed that one captive, known only as Dilawar, 22, from the Khost region, died from "blunt force injuries to lower extremities complicating coronary artery disease" while another captive, Mullah Habibullah, 30, suffered from blood clot in the lung that was exacerbated by a "blunt force injury".

US officials previously admitted using "stress and duress" on prisoners including sleep deprivation, denial of medication for battle injuries, forcing them to stand or kneel for hours on end with hoods on, subjecting them to loud noises and sudden flashes of light and engaging in culturally humiliating practices such as having them kicked by female officers.

dunno if it is true (and i seriously doubt anybody else here would either), though it probably is

dunno if it is acceptable. on one hand it is not ethical, but on the other hand it is for a good cause. *shrug*

Is the cause good, if you have to do bad things for it? Would it be a good thing to bring "world peace" by destroying the world (for example)? After all, there wouldn't be any wars if you destroy those who fight wars (humans)

well, good, as in it saves innocent people at the expense of not-so-innocent people

I believe it. A) there is a reason they put them in Guantanamo Bay
B) it is the US - I didnt expect much different

Well, this did't take place in Guantanamo.

ooops didnt read the article just your quotes and it sounded like what I have seen from guantanamo....

i only hope that this isnt happening to those who surrendered, not those who were captured. well, im not agreeing to torture, but if its happening, i don't want it to be happening to those who surrendered.
