...and when we lose 37,000 troops and 1.2M people die in the first mushroom cloud, you will be on the steps on Congress taking sides against America and crying about the loss of innocent human lives and "No war for Sushi." You can't have your cake and eat it too...A is A. Be careful what you wish for...you just might get it.

I am of this opinion too...but if they continue down the nuke path I may reconsider.
What makes you think the US should be the ultimate arbiter when it comes to nuclear regimes? Technically, only one country has used nuclear arms and its an open debate (amongst the world community) as to whether that use was appropriate (necessity or scope). At the moment, only one country is openly discussing research (and development) of new . . . more versatile nuclear weapons. These aspirations are NOT for the protection of the world. They are expressly for the protection of one nation and its interests. Until the US government shows the humility and compassion indicative of a true benevolent, we are the very last country that should make decisions about which countries can possess particular weapons.

I don't care about any country, except the USA! We should have Never allowed any other country to be a Nuclear Power!

You can't claim to care about your country when you haven't the faintest idea what your country is. We are a country that stands for caring about other countries. What you care about is inflating your own ego by identifying yourself with the prestege your country has won by means you don't comprehend.

Please continue, Moonie, and share with us the means by which we won this so-called "prestege." [sic]

Further, given the fact that one "can't claim to care about your country when you haven't the faintest idea what your country is, and given the fact you know what our country is ("We are a country that ..."), do you, then, care about your country?
In the first place, although Bush has shattered our worldwide prestige in just three short years, our prestige isn't 'so called' it is real. We have a government based on the notion of inalienable rights that are enshrined as the law of the land. We hold these truths to be self evident, or did. The struggle to uncover and manifest these inalienable rights and to express them in reality through government is a struggle thousands of years old. They represent the spiritual and social evolution of our species in time.

The notion that truth is an independent real entity, separate from and indestructible by subjective taint, something truly inalienable to the human soul, is the crowning achievement of liberalism that has been evolving in man, as I said, from ancient times. Its flowering among our forefathers and its expression in the forms of personal freedoms we enjoy is the longing of the soul of man. The longing of the human soul took flight in our forefathers minds. Our fundamental principles, the ideas on which our country was founded calls our to every human being. While modern Americans have passed on to other issues and gotten fat on the lay of the land, the principles of our founding remain a beacon to man.

Everything deep and great about our country reflects those inner truths in some way. Not just with arms and might alone did we defeat Nazism, Communism and so many isms that subjugate man. Did we but care to see it, there's a deep truth that's on our side. All men of every race religion and country were created equal, they all have a fundamental and inviolable right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Nobody should need a history lesson here, but what nation supports human rights, makes waves about it even, who did the Marshall plan, defeated Germany and Japan. And to your hysteria about nuclear weapons, who won the cold war. Was our need for concern about other countries lesser then than now?

Rereading your post I see the road down which you want to go. Hehe. The power of might, that's your God. The mighty Soviet Union is no more. They were defeated without nuclear war. We won not by might but by right by the power of our ideals. The Soviets saw in us a better way. They saw in us a friend who preferred them as friend over enemy. They saw enough to trust to fall apart knowing we wouldn't over run their land. We are a people of principle. Unfortunately Bush now makes his own rules.

And what the hell is that [sic] sh!t, a reference to your mental state? :D Know your audience. It don't mean nothing to me. Save yourself the trouble.
