I can't see how anyone would realistically hold that Congress should do so little that they don't even need to understand the issues.

They would have to understand some issues, but not so much that they need 15+ years of experience to do so.

I didn't say 15+ years of experience, but you have to figure in how long it takes them to get up to speed as compared to how many years they would have to be effective before being replaced.

Yeah, after posting I realized that I was arguing with the same troll who spammed us with retarded "Bobo the Post Chimp" comments until the stupidity got so bad he was practically laughed off the internet. Oh well, he & Craig deserve each other.

Except you're an idiot, and you and he deserve each other.

Times have changed. The country isn't the same as it once was, and the culture against the people - nearly all farmers, most with little education - deciding things has changed.

The changes are appropriate for addressing massive corruption even worse than we have now, something you say nothing about, you just conveniently ignore the problem.

Just because the state governments had more power then doesn't make it better.

Because fools have blown up the Federal government into some huge encompassing goddamn tent. It was an asinine thing to do and we need to move away from it. I am all for going back to this type of style. Allow us to pick our direct reps(Congress) and let the state reps we pick do the senate seat filling. We are a goddamn Republic and we were structured that way for a reason. All you idiots yelling "DEMOCRACY" are morons. People are idiots, the bigger the group, the lower the IQ.

My mistake.

Loretta Sanchez, CA 47th.

Sorry.

All the Hispanic names look the same to you, eh? At least you were polite on it.

Sanchez was by far the congressional election with the biggest issue of false votes I know of in recent decades.

A Congressional investigation found evidence that 624 votes were indeed cast by non-citizens.

It didn't change the outcome of the election, but that would be a serious issue if it were happening in other elections.

Turns out, it's not. You saw the example of a state that IS passing bills like this - 7 votes challenged out of 3 million. But tens of thousands of valid voters will be shut out.

There's no question here that the motive for Republicans is to put their political power ahead of democracy, by reducing voting - harming democracy far more than it helps.
