US Propaganda - How creative and effective is it?

"Attention, Taliban. You are condemned. Did you know that? The instant the terrorists you support took over our planes, you sentenced yourselves to death.''

I'm wondering why US Army is threatening Taliban fighters with DEATH. Isn't it what they want? Isn't it what they are afraid of the least?

Why don't we tell them that, let's say, Islamic clerics have just been told by Allah that there is NOTHING for the Taliban after death, no 72 virgins, no martyrdom, no nothing - just complete destruction? I'm sure this would get them thinking.

How creative? Not very. Hmm, lets see:

"Wanted Dead or Alive"
"Attack on the civilized world"
"We are fighting an evil"

Not only is this not creative, its just plain retarded.

We should threaten to imprison them in camps of armed women, scantily dressed, who hate men.

I have to admit, the phrase "evil doers" to replace bastards just makes me cringe anymore. Sounds like a sunday school preacher talking to 6 year olds. Yeech!:p

It's not called propaganda anymore. Public Relations Management is the right term.

No, seriously. It doesn't look very effective to promise death to people who want it.

There is a joke circulating about telling Taliban that we will send all their women to college. This does seem more frightening from Taliban's perspective. :D

Ever met any Iraqi Republican Guard?????? I'm not saying they are anymore, or less hardline than some of these guys......but I guarntee they could hold their own.........and they were pleading to surrender.........! Don't count on everything you've heard before about these guys......There will be some whom will fight to the death.......but a vast majority will not! As for them "wanting to die"..........LOL! Wanna bet???? There are some "fanaticals" but, even on the hi-jacked planes, only a few actually knew what the true plan was.....the others were there for their bodies and intimidation and were probably as scared as the passengers once they knew what was coming!;)

i think its mostly the taliban mullahs who welcome death as they presume to represent the opinion of every
taliban footsoldier. in real world circumstances, especially on the front lines, the taliban man their units with
teenage madrassa students from pakistan. they're trained to fight enemies whose technology and training
are similar to theirs. the u.s. represents a magnitude of technological advantage they cannot imagine. what
ground force can defend against a 5000lb laser guided bomb when your air defenses have been wiped clean ?
the loyalties of various taliban commanders shift with the fortune of their masters. if mullah omar and his circle
of confidants are clueless and scared then the commanders will abandon the revolution in droves. the
martyr rhetoric will evaporate once the losses from the sustained air campaigns mount.
