More DST

The U.S. Congress on Tuesday adopted the provision, which is part of a sweeping new energy plan. It would mean people would turn their clocks forward one hour on the first weekend of March and "fall back" on the final weekend in November.

Good. We've needed this for a while. I hate going to class in the dark and coming home in the dark.

i think we should just fall back one hour every couple months. getting the extra hour is good. i don't like the jump forward part, so lets skip that, missing an hour of sleep sucks

Yes. It would also mess up those alarm clocks, VCR's, microwaves, etc that also do it automatically.

1 hour change != jet lag.

goddamnit i hate daylight savings time as it is. 12:00 noon is not at noon during DST in austin; noon is almost at 2 pm (due in part to DST and in part to austin being in the wrong time zone). having 4 hours of sunlight before 12:00 and 8 hours of sunlight after 12:00 is stupid. if you're going to move time zones around just move it so that 2 am before sunset so i can get out of the bars with the sun still up

you go to class in the dark and come home in the dark because your class schedule is longer than daylight, not because of artificial time demarcations. how long is the sun up in michigan in december? 8 hours? not even that?

Bush has to approve it right? As of right now we're still set to switch back in October, right?
