Maybe, but the Marines aren't really interested in prisoners.
So shooting a person twice in the back of the head is justified? GET REAL!!

What would you do seriously if the guy just tried to kill you and your fellow soldiers? War is war, isn't it?
I bet you all over the Iraqi's when they interviewed the POWs.Originally posted by: Trinitron

I know he wasn't handcuffed...reread what I said.
The point is, the killing wasn't justified. And he was stupid for blabbing to the paper. He deserves whatever is coming to him.
This was an execution...not self defense

Human beings don't squeeze off two rounds into the back of someone's head.
He has the FORETHOUGHT to tell him to stop...then turn around. THEN fired two bullets into the back of his head.
Hell, even the Iraqi's were more gracious with our POW's.

I read what you said and understood. I just disagree thats all. He was stupid for blabbing to the paper though, the fact that he took items off them makes his credibility go down imo.
Covarrubias told the daily he ordered the man to stop and to turn around. "I went behind him and shot him in the back of the head -- twice," he was quoted as saying.Originally posted by: Trinitron

Yeah but was he a POW? I don't think he was. He was armed, and he initiated the attack, not the marine. He did not try to surender.
Other than bragging about it, it doesnt appear this soldier was out of line.
