More than 8.57 million guns were produced in 2012, up 31 percent from 6.54 million in 2011, according to data released this week by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives...

Meh, I think it has more to do with advancement of society than anything political.


Through the 80's 90's the modern progressives really pushed their "big scary gun" agenda.

Through the 2000's most intelligent people realized that a hunk of metal that throws another hunk of metal very fast is not in itself a dangerous item. Also realized that the anti gun legislation actually creates more violent crime.

Add in our issues with violent crime from thugs, and skyrocketing CCW rates... Plus shooting is a hobby for many people.

Or showing that recognizing that 13 people died in the I-35W bridge collapse is just exploiting them to raise taxes to pay for infrastructure.

Or using the deaths of 2,606 residents of NYC just to launch a $1.9 trillion war against Iraq that would cost us another 4,500 dead soldiers and kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.

Except for the fact that none of what you just said is true. The President did what was within his power to do. As I pointed out, 80-90% of the nation polled, with over 50% of NRA members polled, and a 62.27% of the population of the nation as represented by their Senators, wanted the increased background checks at a minimum. None of the executive orders the President issued had any real teeth or bypassed Congress in ANY way. Claiming such doesn't make it true it just makes you delusional or a liar.
