i don't have a big prob with this since the missle d is only supposed to stop a few missles fired, but then again china only has 24 that can reach the US. is this a good idea?

1 is too many, if you look at it in terms of loss. Imagine how disastrous it would be if they landed those nukes?

Uh, can you point out where it says the US is giving China our missile defense tech? As far as I can tell it's just talks to try to calm down China so they don't start a nuclear arms buildup.

considering that the US is planning to destroy many of its nuclear missles to a combined sub/land based arsenal of about a 1000, in camparison its not that many.

also the US has about 15000 nuke warheads.

the us could take being hit by 24. the china couldn't take what US could send.

The US could take being hit by 24 nukes? Do you know how much damage nukes can do? Now I'm assuming that China could only hit the western US. Well this would pretty much destroy almost all of the major western cities.

Could we still function? Sure we could but it would be a bitch to rebuild everything.

with that many nukes going off around the same time, at the power they are at today, it would cause a chain reaction, not much would live.

i'd say the US would lose about a 100 million with 60-70 percent of the pop with radiation disease, but we would live on (as a 3rd world country with a large nuclear arsenal).


problem is once this happens maybe military would launch all their nukes at china rather than just a few. which, would bring so much radiation it would eventually kill every living thing on earth.

I seriously doubt that we would launch ALL of our nukes at them. Hell I think we could do enough damage with 50 nukes but this really isn't on topic now is it?

You might want to change the title of this thread cuz it's kind of misleading. I think talking to China to try to explain to them that our missile defense tech. isn't really such a horrible thing for the rest of the world is a good idea. They have enough nukes as it is; they don't need any more.
