Also... make sure you get permission IN WRITING - then stash a copy with your attorney or someone.
In retrospect - I'm virtually certain had Dave McOwen done that - there'd never have been a problem. Better to overkill - than be sorry.
 
Well......how long will your race last? Everyone expects SETI to die in the next 2 months or so. Once that happens, I have ~45 Pentium 4 2.4s that will need a new DC project.

No pun intended, but SETI keeps ending in 2 months for about a year now I guess 😉 ... the Berkely guys never really said when it's going to end and the roadmap they once published is also way outdated by now. I know that BOINC is on a good way by now, but I think that SETI won't end in the very next future ...

Hey, we don't have any data center geeks left! And who said we don't respect you? You guys up until today were well respected and thought of over at US-D. We have a friendly competition going and all of a sudden...poof! What say you to lowering the rhetoric a few notches and let's get back to some fun. It may be that you will pass us tomorrow but you know what? Who cares? In the grand scheme of things it doesn't amount to a hill of beans. Somewhere in the universe a star just went supernova wiping out an entire solar system that had a civilization a 100,000 years advanced over ours and all you care about is someone poking a little fun your way. The rhetoric in my opinion did get a little out of hand on the USD forum.
It all supposed to be healthy competition and FUN, let's work to keep it that way.
