Not sure these guys have learned their lesson. There are going to be a large number of arrests. There are going to a number of LEO and military servicemen who are going to get caught in this dragnet.

They are planning to do something during the inauguration. They will try to hit all 50 States? Wonder how many people they can throw at this second initiative with their ranks thinned by the arrests done and the ones pending. This either too ambitious or they will only hit a few of them trying to do a fake and juke to make what they want to accomplish more possible.

The FBI should be infiltrating these people. Will they? Enough? If not, they are failing the nation. Intelligence is key here.

Maybe he really was Antifa after all? All organic food? what a hippie!
Hey, he's a QAnon cuck. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. He's probably a babbling idiot behind the horns and body paint.

You infiltrate when you're trying to figure out who they are. Not strictly necessary if they're all posting themselves on the internet for all to see.

Well, that is the question. It seems (I've seen/heard it said) that since the high profile social media have clamped down on the seditionists they are seeking the dark corners of the internet to coordinate their attacks. The FBI should be able to sniff that stuff out, and infiltration would be one of the best ways to do that. The insiders would know how they're coordinating. It's best to have people on the inside. The FBI is good at infiltration. It may be key here!

Agreed. They are slithering into darker regions, but the lack of a public forum limits their ability to attract new crazies. The secure messaging apps they are using do not have the megaphone that Twitter, Facebook or even Parler had. Cannot stop a crazy or two from connecting, but we can limit them from recruiting the masses and spreading misinformation. I wonder how many of the 70,000 accounts Twitter just shut down that were Q’Anon were bots or even Russian trolls.

Reuters reported in November that Deutsche was looking for ways to end its relationship with Trump after the U.S. elections, as it tires of the negative publicity stemming from the ties.

TRump lied his ass off as usual during his departure to Tx, he claimed many people looked at his speech and said it was fine.
Edit: he said they told him it was “totally appropriate”.

I just figure that every single thing he says is a lie. That assumption has not been challenged. He's the reliable liar. It boggles my mind that people pay him any attention at all. Once out of the White House, ignoring that son of a bitch will get a lot easier.

That might actually be true, but it is worth noting that no one that is both competent and sane still works for him. Since Trump fires anyone that disagrees with him all that is left are the bootlickers that couldn't cut it anywhere else.

That, and I doubt Trump wrote down the contents of his 4 hour long rambling speech. I think his normal limit is closer 140 charcters.

Mike Pompeo used VOA to deliver a pro-Trump screed.

Pompeo:

"We are all parts of institutions with duties and responsibilities higher than any of us. And this kind of censorial instinct is dangerous. It’s morally wrong. And it’s against your mandate. Censorship, wokeness, political correctness, it all points in one direction — authoritarianism, cloaked as moral righteousness. It’s similar to what we’re seeing at Twitter, and Facebook, and Apple, and on too many university campuses."

No, Mike; it isn’t similar. And you’re the authoritarian cloaked in moral righteousness; let’s not mince words here.

Is Pompeo really that stupid, or does this just reek of mendacious hypocrisy? Hard to say. Pompeo did once also say that it was God who caused Trump to become president, praise the Lord.

Someone should explain to this moron that authoritarianism arises from the style of governments like the one he’s defending with the passion, not from individuals and private businesses responsibly exercising the rights of liberty.

He knows damn well what he’s doing and yes, he is blatantly lying. Pompeo is a fundamentalist nutjob who thinks about foreign policy, especially in the Middle East, in a framework of biblical eschatology. He literally believes that God sent Trump as part of his plan to guide the world toward Armageddon. Is Pompeo egging on Trump engaging in some military action this week in the name of God?

Their speeches aren't for people who can tell the difference between truth and a lie. It's for cult members that will just believe whatever he says.

Lol ... Susan Collins says she thought Iran was invading the Capitol. Did she not know what the fuck was going on around her? Is she nearly senile or something. I'm assuming she was "concerned" about it. Black, Antifa, Iranians funded by George Soros.

You seem to have once again forgotten that the go to defense of Authoritarian's is to shout that the other guy is the one doing it. It does not have to have any basis in reality, people will believe what you tell them so long as you do so with conviction and repeat it often.
It really is no more complex then the 'I know you are, but what am I' defense. The main lesson of the last 40 years of politics is to dumb your message down to the point that any slow 5 year old will understand it, and that message is the one that will stick.

Seems that the FBI warned that “war” was coming on the 6th.

From the article:

“A day before rioters stormed Congress, an FBI office in Virginia issued an explicit internal warning that extremists were preparing to travel to Washington to commit violence and “war,” according to an internal document reviewed by The Washington Post that contradicts a senior official’s declaration the bureau had no intelligence indicating anyone at last week’s pro-Trump protest planned to do harm.

A situational information report approved for release the day before the U.S. Capitol riot painted a dire portrait of dangerous plans, including individuals sharing a map of the complex’s tunnels, and possible rally points for would-be conspirators to meet up in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and South Carolina and head in groups to Washington.

“As of 5 January 2021, FBI Norfolk received information indicating calls for violence in response to ‘unlawful lockdowns’ to begin on 6 January 2021 in Washington. D.C.,” the document says. “An online thread discussed specific calls for violence to include stating ‘Be ready to fight. Congress needs to hear glass breaking, doors being kicked in, and blood from their BLM and Pantifa slave soldiers being spilled. Get violent. Stop calling this a march, or rally, or a protest. Go there ready for war. We get our President or we die. NOTHING else will achieve this goal.””

I think this paragraph is profound:

“The warning is the most stark evidence yet of the sizable intelligence failure that preceded the mayhem, during which five people died, although one law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity to avoid disciplinary action, said the failure was not one of intelligence, but of acting on the intelligence.”

They were prepared:

“The document notes that one online comment advised, “if Antifa or BLM get violent, leave them dead in the street,” while another said they need “people on standby to provide supplies, including water and medical, to the front lines. The individual also discussed the need to evacuate noncombatants and wounded to medical care.””

Seems they flaunted this publicly. The one coming next week will not be as public, but there is enough out there to price things together. The coordination may not be as good, but these folks are motivated.

Edit: Added more from the article.

"once again" Nah, I haven't "forgotten" shit
Don't take it personally, I was really using you in the plural. It seems like every couple of days I have to remind people that this is their normal M.O. Shout about how others are doing the things they are so blatantly doing.
Oh, and yes, I type in Texan.
