You know I've noticed that members of both parties have pushed for amnesty. I've also noticed that members of both parties have sat on their hands and done nothing to stem the flow of illegal immigrants across our borders while catering to big business interests. I also believe that it is coming down to citizen groups like the minutemen to do what the government has refused to do and that is sad.
So then it stands to reason that liberal democrats should be more outspoken against illegal immigration than anyone. But, ironically, that doesn't seem to be the case. By supporting illegal immigrants they are just setting back their own cause and playing right into the hands of their opposition. Every time some liberal cries out for the rights of illegals they are just helping to perpetuate one of the very problems they are constantly bemoaning. . .the growing divide between the rich and poor and the control of the poor by the rich, the government, and big corporations.
I've said it before but I'll say it again. I don't care if we shared the southern border with jolly old mother England instead of Mexico and everybody who was sneaking across the border was White and spoke perfect English. They got to go! But apparently to you it's bigoted to point out that illegal British people are not the problem here. It's Mexicans. From Mexico. And South Americans. And Cubans. It's as plain as the nose on your face. To the very vast majority of the minutemen it doesn't matter where you came from or what color your skin is. It just happens to be that guess who lives in Mexico. . .? Mexicans, Einstein!
I understand you're being sarcastic, but that's pretty much how the military works too (yes, I was in it). Your oath is to defend the Constitution and all that, but really you're just there to do what you're told regardless of whether it's the law, right, or whatever else people might have as a reason for doing something.
