I just wanted to post this here as an FYI to those of you that have kids, and use your Credit Cards as much as I do.
Head over to upromise.com and register... Im not going to go into their "sales pitch" (really no sale as there are no charges) but its a great way to earn extra $ back on everything you charge.

Ive been a member for about 2yrs and have accumulated $500+ into my account for my youngin's Its not a TON of money, but hey its free and will buy books for a semester or 2 for them I guess. Whats great is you earn %age pack on the card itself, any card you register and most grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants etc all give you additional $ back.

You can even get friends and family to register and you (your kids) earn $ for items that they charge. That reminds me I gott call up the in-laws and get them to sign up...

Check it out, its sound and LEGIT "investment" in your kids future.

Been there, done that. Really great program, especially if you do a lot of purchasing at Circuit City. I did some shopping there on Black Friday and the following Sunday, both of which were $300+ purchases, and we got 2% on that. Not to mention, ADT throws in $1/mo. Really nice program; hopefully it's around until my kids reach college age

Yeap I prettymuch just charge everything I do/buy as its just easier and I may as well earn some upromise $ (and whatever else points/refunds my cards provide).

In fact I charged our entire kitchen remodeling ($19K) That was a nice boost in the savings.

You can (and should) roll the upromise money over into yuor own personal 529 fund for your kid(s). IT can certianly earn you more money that way AND safegaurds the $ in case upromise ups and dies somewhere in the future.

Make sure to register all your gorcery cards too. It all adds up and really is free money.
