URL Forwarding/Frame - Question for the Webhosting elite.

I'm new to hosting so please bear with me.

I buy a domain name from say namecheap.com (say www.mydomain.com). I then proceed to get hosting at Hostpc.com. I FTP all my website files to hostpc's site, and here is where my question arises.:

namecheap will direct my domain name to my site at hostpc. How does HostPC name my web account over there (is it - someIPaddress/myaccountname)??

namecheap's URL forwarding and URL Frame will let me connect to my website @ HostPC but say someone hovers over a link on the website, won't the link lead to someIPaddress/myaccountname/link.htm and not www.mydomain.com/link.htm? And if he does go to that link if I have chosen URL Frame as a forwarding option, will the address still show as www.mydomain.com?

I'm confused.

You're making it a lot more complicated than it really is.

Step1: Buy domain name
Step2: Buy hosting service
Step3: Update DNS with address provided by hosting service
Step4: Wait about 10-24hrs
Step5: Upload files to FTP
