The enzymes break down the urine (they effectively eat it) and stop the odor. The black light is used to find where male cats have sprayed.

This is the same stuff - and you can get it at walmart. Had to use it for my cat many times when she got locked out of the laudry room (steam cleaning, and machines will not remove the smell of cat urine).

You said for Male cats but then went on to say that you used that product for your Female cat.
