urinal etiquette revisited

Restroom has 3 urinals here at work without dividers. I walked in and there was a guy using the one on the far right. Another huge guy was washing his hands in the sink. As I approached the urinals, I noticed the one on the far left had just cycled.

This leaves me with a dilemma. Do I go ahead and use the one on the far left that is still flushing, knowing I will probably smell man funk and urine scent, or do I saunter up to the middle one and go while the dude is still using the one on the right?

I made my decision and think it was correct, but barely escaped with my life..

All Urinal questions can be answered by:
The Urinal Game!

I don't think it matters if one is flushing or not as long as someone isn't standing right there... So I'd go with left.

The proper ettiquite would be to go grab one of the paper towels, pretend to blow your nose, then by the time you are done, the toilet will be A-Okay.

I always go for the center urinal; even if it is occupied, I'll just piss over their shoulder.

Use the space between the far left and the center urinal and piss on the floor.

If you use a urinal next to another person and wonder if the other person thinks you are a happy fellow, then get over it. You are probably a happy fellow.

I usually wash my hands unneccesarily or fix my hair or something stupid like that.

This works too, but can make you look overly meterosexual. :)

Use the center one, and strike up a conversation about the latest SPAM you got in your work email.

Yeah, I don't give a crap about this stuff. Besides, we have dividers here at work. I seriously doubt that anyone is going to be checking out my manhood and if they are then it's their problem, not mine. :D

Some people devote waaaay too much time to this subject.

Perhaps I should adjust myself unneccesarily instead? Please advise.

Proper etiquette dictates that you should always leave a one stall buffer zone, when available.

And these are not trivial matters. Dis sh*t's impotant.

What happens when you have a 4 stall setup and both end stalls are in use which one do you use then?

You should go to the far right... About the buffer zone - if it was so important then it would have been created during construction work

lol.

I say the left urinal.

Here is a freaky story. I walk into the bathroom with urinals that have little dividers. There is no one at the urinals so I pick the second one in for the hell of it (it looked cleaner and I had my choice). Right after me comes another dude who picks the first urinal. Boy was that awkward. There was 7 empty urinals to my right and 1 empty urinal to my left and he picks that one.

Then they'll know you are faking it because you are about to whip it out anyway.

You might try the classic yawn and stretch. ;)

You pull out your keys and split the stream with one so you end up using both, standing in the center.

I tried that once. I just got pee on my hands, pants and floor. Very little actually went into the urinals. ;)
