Before he lost to Mike Brown he actually was considered #1 in the world by some. Great fighter, top 3 p4p in my opinion.

Hard to decide since he's up against weaker competition in the WEC. UFC's lightweight division is pretty solidly stacked, it'd be interesting to see how he does against someone from there.

He's a great fighter no doubt. He is at least in the top 5 best pound for pound. I wouldn't put him at number one. But everyone has opinions.

Don't forget one guy..

I think he's great and the argument could be made for best. IMHO however he's not p4p best - that title goes to Anderson Sliva. This guy has absolutely trainwrecked 185 and the closest guy to him (according to these rankings) is, IMO, LEAGUES away from Silva's ability. He's dominated everyone the UFC has put in front of him, then moved up to 205 and crushed a competent Irvin.

I like the other guys in the p4p argument, But "The Spider" is my vote with his phenomenal striking and ground skills.

.. Fedor's getting close, it's too bad the remaining competition to take that crown is in the UFC and a fight with any of those guys probably won't happen. :(

Uriah's a pretty cool guy it seems (from videos) and his abilities are top notch. w/o any crossover matches, all we can do is speculate :(

When he fights Torres you will see who the best pound for pound in the world is, yes I know we had this discussion already. :)

This one convinced me he's the best. Franklin was supposed to hold his own but got embarrassed. And he was well deserving of this title shot. The rematch was the exact same thing.

Him and Fedor's striking styles (not technique) are very similar - pinpoint accurate and BRUTAL. They time their shots and make them count instead of flailing their limbs wildly and trying to connect.

if he moves to the UFC he'll have to move up to 155, he's dominating WEC but in UFC he'd be facing Stevenson, Penn, Fitch. UFC's 155 division is pretty sick. Not saying he couldn't beat them but he would have a hard time. He's never faced a dude with BJJ like Penn or Stevenson has.

Silva is unreal.

That clip doesn't illustrate the look of terror in Franklin's eyes.

Silva beat Dan Henderson. After the fight Dan Henderson said he has never been hit as hard as Silva. This is a Dan Henderson that's fought Wanderlei twice, Rampage etc.

His matches literally look like he's beating up on amateurs the skill level disparity is just phenomenal.

Anderson Silva, IMO, is the best fighter in UFC. There are several guys though that are nipping at his heels.

This^ or more likely Faber - Torres. Miguel Torres is one of my favorite fighters and I'd love to see him beat the shit out of the California Douchebag, err, Kid.

Torres would get destroyed by Faber. In your opinion, what the fuck kind of advantage would Torres have over Faber? Faber is bigger, faster, and much much stronger. Are you serious?

I'd love to see you put your money where your mouth is on this one. I respect your opinion, but Torres would beat Faber 1 out of 10 times. Faber is nasty.

Putting a guy who fights at 145 against a guy like Penn who just fought at 170? Faber would hang, no doubt.
