Urgent: winsrv not found, need to reinstall application

aiya,

I have a Windows XP home edition SP1, and i just downloaded the Service Pack 2 from internet and upgrade it to SP2.

However, after it has been installed, then i reboot, now a blue screen popup saying "winsrv not found, please reinstall the application".
i can't warm boot, i need to turn my NOTEBOOK off then turn it back on again.
What can i do now.?!

All of my software are legal. if i put in the recovery disk from Fujitsu( my notebook is a fujutsu), it will go back to the point where only Windows XP home was installed. I don't want to do this, this is the last step that i am going to do.

So, anyone with any ideas what i can or should do now?

One reason that SP2 installations fail is that the PC is infected with viruses or spyware. Ironically, another is that the antivirus software interferes :roll: If you want to give SP2 one more try, then after removing the failed installation of SP2, first scan your system for viruses using some current-generation antivirus scanners and maybe Microsoft AntiSpyware beta (see the Consolidated Security Thread in the Software section for links to online virus scanners and stuff).

After the system is verified clean, start it in Safe Mode and install SP2 in Safe Mode. You can get the complete SP2 installer from this page.

ok, now i am at work i will try it later tonite, but i install sp2 while NOD32 was on.

it still say it is service pack 2 in System properties.
but when the windows xp load, it has "Home edition" logo.... wierd.
!

also, the load time is very very slow, like 10 minutes.
