URGENT! Windows Cannot Repair Autostart Cannot Read Files

URGENT!

Our computer with Windows 7 did not shut down and gave the message "cannot shut down."

Upon re-starting, now there is the message:

"Windows cannot repair autostart"

"Cannot read files"


The addresses to disks and all other OS settings are not there.

Your urgent assistance is most appreciated.

I am not sure what happened to the OP, as he hasn't responded to any of the 5+ places he has posted this. If it is indeed the ransomware VL linked to, it has been defeated.

The language they OP used in the messages is very odd. Those aren't MS messages. Don't know if that means it is indeed ransomware, or if someone is trying to guess at the messages.
