I'm looking for a replacement 17" CRT monitor...

Choices consist of:

Auriga 17TF Flat, Benq G774, Hyundai ImageQuest Q770, LG Flatron 700B, Philips 107T, Philips 107X (basically the same as the 107T), Samsung 753DFX, Samsung 765MB, ViewSonic E70F

I'm especially looking for a crisp picture, good colour purity, no moire, good video bandwidth.

Currently I'm thinking that the Samsung 765MB, Philips 107X and LG Flatron 700B are the best choices.

Any opinions or experiences of these monitors would be valuable.

Cheers

All three of those are excellent choices. Whichever one you can find for the best price would be my suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion...

I've also found a LG Flatron T710B monitor for quite a good price. The only real difference I can see in the specs between that and the Flatron F700B is that the 710B has a 0.25 dot pitch while the F700B has a 0.24 dot pitch. Is there any other differences between these in terms of image quality?

I was reading a couple of reviews for the Samsung 765MB and there seems to be conflicting reports as to the image quality. The review here says the clarity is good, but ZDnet says the text is poor here.

Any more opinions would be valued.

Cheers

I wrote the 763MB review. We went into a little more depth than ZDNet did. They also did not have it properly adjusted from what I can tell. Like I said, all excellent monitors. I would go with what you can get a good deal on.

About the MB's...would you recommend Samsung's 19" MagicBright monitor, Kristopher? Well I wouldn't know if you've seen it but it can't be too different from the 17" right? I saw the 763MB in a store recently and I thought it looked good but I was unsure of if the screen would bug me. It seemed like it wasn't perfectly flat like the other that i'm considering: the NEC FE991SB, and I wasn't sure about that so i've stuck to the FE991SB. Would you think the 19" MagicBright monitor from Samsung is better than my current choice, the FE991SB? I think it is considerably more expensive, but I am not upgrading right away.
