Hi guys, this is really important,

I have to finish building a mild OCing system for a friend by TONIGHT

I just bought the volcano2 cooler, and my question is:

I dont have any Arctic Silver, but I am gonna get some soon. In the meantime, would it be better to leave the thermal pad thingame on there or scrape it off and use some radio shack heatsink compound stuff.

Thanks a lot guys,

I really need to know,

thanks,
Sam

Not taking the cooling into consideration Ide go with the radioshack stuff just to keep from needing to clean off the phasechange pad after it melts and squishes. Thinking this since it sounds like you intend to remove and reinstall later with AS.

Argh I hate removing the HSF, i would use the radioshack compund since your going to OC it...

thanks guys,

I left the pad on but in a few days im gonna take it off and put the radioshack stuff on, just cuz im curious about what real results I will have. Maybe in a little while ill get some AS and see what diffence that makes,

thanks a lot guys,
Sam

Just be careful pulling that thing off there then; I left the stuff on my one Chrome Orb; that stuff has the consistency of old chewing gum, and it's pretty sticky. I removed that stuff completely, and shortly afterwards, I got Arctic Silver.
