No it will not by default, you can edit the record options for the recording to extend an extra 1, 5, 10, 15, etc minutes. This is recommended for sporting events.
That's why I always record the next 1 or 2 shows after on my RPTV. It sucks though when there is another game I want to watch. Then I have to manually extend it. Decisions, decisions.
With TiVo, you assign priorities to the Season Passes so that it knows which one is more important to you.
If it's just a one time recording that you are going to set up, it will tell you that something else is scheduled during that time frame and ask you if you want to cancel the previous recording.
With the RPTV it's the same. If priorities are the same or if you try to record over a higher priority one, it won't allow you to until you cancel the preceding one.
If it's already in the To Do List, go to the To Do List, highlight and select the program, and then hit right, right. That will bring up the Recording Options screen, where you can change the time that it will stop recording.
This is the "official" way to deal with this on Tivo.
