URGENT: Should I upgrade C300A to a Pentium 3? How much faster would it be?

I have the following:

Celeron 300A
Abit BX6 rev. 2
192MB RAM
V3-2000

I can get:

p3 700 flip (for C$270 about US$ 180)
p3 750 slot (for C$310 about US$ 210)
p3 800 flip (for C$325 about US$ 220)

The reason why I say urgent is because I have to pick it up TODAY! Which one should I get? I was thinking P3-750 since it's slot-1 format. Is it a worthwhile investment?

In case you want to upgrade the motherboard later on, there won't be slot 1 except the Abit Slot 1 i815e.. but since u get flipchip, u can get the dual motherboard later and get another cpu.

The 700 overclocks well so using 133x7 = 933Mhz
Unless your memory is all PC100, then get the 800

I don't think my RAM can do 133MHz - actually, I am not even sure if it can do 100Mhz!!! I am not able to overclock my C300 to 450...

how about sell off your board and CPU and get a Duron??

you'll probably need new ram whether you go the P3 or the Duron route.

If you want to keep your mobo, I will have a P3 600E Slot1 version with the Coppermine core. It OCs to 840, can sell you. =)
