Urgent SETIQ Help in Win95 Needed!! *Update* Woohoo!! Assimilation Underway!

Hi people,

I am setting up a laptop to use run the SETIQ for one of the two schools where I work, and I can't get the latest version of SETIQ to install because it says that the required DLL WS2_32.DLL is missing. I am running Win95C on this laptop, and don't have the time to install Windows98 on this laptop, as it needs to be back at work tomorrow. Also, I can't find the requisite Toshiba utilities for this laptop (It's an ancient P100 with a nice big 4GB hard drive... big enough for a 10000 WU SETIQ )

Hopefully, if this goes without a hitch, I will set up a laptop at the other school which has approximately 6-8 times as many harvestable computers as this school, so I am hoping for a quick response!!

PieDerro, without having more time to think of a better answer.. I believe you need the Winsock 2 update.

If that doesn't work, here are a couple links that will download the WS2_32.DLL for placement in the C:/*Windows*/System directory.

hey thanks RigorousT, I just came back to let people know that I now have SETIQ working on this machine

I installed Windows98 (non-SE) as this seemed to work fine with the older software that was already on there.

Regardless, this Queue server should bring in about 60WUs/day or more
The one at the other school should bring in up to 220WUs/day (that is peak, probably closer to 150/day actually)

The only thing stopping this assimilation in the past was the huge amount of bandwidth needed to be supplied to keep the computers fed (each school runs off a 64Kbps ISDN line :Q).

The laptop idea (caching WUs from my fast cable connection at home) was only brought to my attention in the last day or two by none other than good Mr Tarca!! Thanks a heap for that mate... Now I might catch you sooner than what I would otherwise have thought possible.

Now, the only thing stopping me is the ever-elusive concept we like to refer to as "Time"
