urgent recommendation

I´m going to purchase a new notebook.
I need some recommendation (as Brand and model) for the following specifications:
Precessor: i7 quad core
RAM: minimum 8 GB (Best if later update to 16 GB)
Good graphics chip (I like NVIDIA but ...)
HDD 500 GB minimum
Ion litium battery
15.6 maximum size of display
No problem with price

Several uses: research calculus, image processing, etc.

See my laptop? I bought it without the hard drives, ram and O/S for $1150.00 in. barebones.

It's a Clevo. It honestly is one of the nicest notebooks I've owned. (I owned a Alienware M18x, multiple XPS, HP's etc) The 95% screen gamut 1920x1080 15" screen is amazing. Rear access to everything with 5-6 screws.

You can also get it from multiple online stores in the US or Canada. (I bought from Eurocom)




If you need something from Best Buy, Get an Asus. My 2 cents.

Most will tell you Acer is a "budget" brand, but I've personally had good luck with them in the past. (way better experiences than HP for example). I've never actually used a higher end Acer though. Like Lenovo, they tend to cripple the GPU in there higher end laptops (DDR3 vs DDR5, etc)

I just suggested Asus as they have more systems configured they way you like, and there cooling system works well.

MSI make solid "gaming caliber" notebooks too, but there keyboards generally suck (flexing). They are noiser than Asus ROG notebooks in my experience as well.

Since your in Argentina, it's hard to make a solid recommendation. Maybe find some systems you are thinking about, post them here and we'll take a look.

I can tell you, Alienware and Clevo's are the best built. If you want flash, Alienware are solid. Clevo's are simple looking, but solid and very well built.

EDIT: One knock on Clevo's --- click keyboards. I've got used to it though
