URGENT (please) : is the GPU supposed to fit?

Hi, currently building my rig. Never done this before, but something doesn't seem right... I am trying to fit a Sapphire x1800xt into a PCI-E slot on a DFI ultra-d board.

almost all the pins go into the slot all the way, but the pins closest to the case back side still have a teensy bit exposed. i have tried pushing a little harder but it doesn't help. same problem occurs when i try to fit the x1800xt into the other PCI-E slot.

the picture highlights what i'm talking about... the white cirlcle shows the few pins that don't fit all the way, and the red circle shows how the bracket is not aligned because of this.

is this supposed to happen? am i supposed to push really hard? do i have to do something special with the x1800xt? any help would be appreciated... thanks.

probably just your case holding it up a bit. actually looks ok to me but that isn't the best angle.

Your motherboard probably is not mounted right, making the motherboard uneven. Check the screw studs for the board and case.

Which end isn't going in? Some AGP slots have a small peg that has to be opened to allow the card to go in. It then locks back in place when the card is installed. My wife's Asus board has this, I believe.

take off the L bracket and see if it goes deeper

Try putting the bracket end in first. Make sure the bracket sits flush against the case before bringing out the hammer. You may need to bend the little tab end (opposite the end where the screw goes) a little so it fits.
