URGENT PLEASE Help!! ADSL problems in WIN ME!!

I am sharing 2 pc without using a hub

I can connect to the internet with the WinPOET for my ADSL but I couldn't surf net eventhough i am already connected.

what is wrong with my setting??

i can surf net when i connect by my modem but not ADSL

what's happening??

can anyone help??

According to a letter to the editor in this month's Ottawa Computes, one person who who could no longer connect to his ISP or 4 others after an upgrade from W98SE to Windows ME spent 1 1/2 hour with tech support to find out that he had done everything properly and his ME was ok but the problem was in fact that none of these 5 major Canadian ISPs fully support ME yet. Once he reverted to w98SE, there was no problem.

So I suggest that first you phone your ISP to simply check if ME is supported by them for ADSL.

i tried using ME connect to my DASL before

this time i reinstall everything because it is the time for me to clean up the junk in my hardisk

i can connect to the ISP but couldn't surh the net

i am just one step away from the internet

See if you can ping internet sites by their IP addresses (eg. the gateway and DNS server addresses given to you by your ISP). If so, you are in fact connected to the internet, but can't "surf" because DNS is not properly configured.

I got the DNS right and the IP right but still couldn't surf net

but the way, can the WinPOET incompatible to WIN ME???

Call your ISP... you might have a routing issue.

My friend had problems with his DSL also after going to WinME
all he had to do is download the lastest version of WinPoET & everything worked fine after that

my ISP doesn't use WinPOET anymore. they use Enternet and i still couldn't surf the net even i already connected.

is there anyone can send me a copy of Win ME version WinPOET??

Have you try RASPPOE I have use it and it works well. RASPPPOE
