(I posted this in FS/FT forum as well, but I may have better luck here)

Hey guys,

My friend has been having REAL bad luck lately. First, his sister's comp gets funky and screws up. I think he got that covered finally, but now his parents' computer has completely fux0r3d! It won't post, he says. He checked the powersupply by trying another, and he's tried everything he could think of.

They are short of money, as it's xmas time 😛

So, I thought I'd see if I could grab a mobo off here for him! If you can part with it for free, great, merry xmas to you too.. but if you still want a penny for it, or whatever it's worth, that's fine too. It has to be a socket-7 motherboard supporting an AMD K6-2 CPU. The CPU is 500MHz but will run fine underclocked if the mobo doesn't support higher speeds. The mobo must have at least a few PCI sluts and SDRAM compatibility.

So, who has the old stuff? 🙂 😀 you can't hide forever..

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you all, and have a great holidays.. and lemme know about this mobo!

Thanks a bunch!

I have one upstairs that's a baby AT/ATX, and i'd give it to ya for free, but im not sure how much a fried board will do ya :-( I accidentally fried it playing with the onboard fan connecter, connected it backwards and a little flame lit between two isa slots, it was scarey.

I came across alot of these in a PC store's trash. So far only found one good ATX one but I haven't gotten through the rest (I think some of them may just need BIOS flashes).

Hmm, it sounds like you need a FIC503+ system board (AT) which I just so happened to have upgraded from a few hours ago (my new box - M7VKS sys. bd./AMD K7 1 Ghz. proc./512 MB RAM/60 + 6 GB hard disks, etc., etc., etc. - sorry, I guess I had to brag a little as I'm just giddy with excitement...). I also happen to have an AMD K6-2 400 Mhz. proc. running on it that I have overclocked to 448. My wife would castrate me if I gave it away because I was going to set it up for my son. At best we might be able to work out a good old fashioned trade 'em.

I have an AT socket 7 motherboard in a drawer in my desk. It's not super socket 7, so it won't support your chip. It has 1 dimm slut, four simm sluts, and four PCI sluts.
