URGENT!!!! new HD and old mobo problems

My father has an old Gateway P-100 and the mobo doesn't support LBA mode. It will only read the drives up to 8 gigs and he bought 20 gig drive for it. The system just hangs when the bios hits the new drive. The old HD is still installed. I need quick help for this.... its for my father and he needs it for his business right aways. Thanks!

How about getting a bios update from gateway for the mobo and see if mobo can be update to recognize the 20gb hard drive; or you can try to partition the hard drive into three or more drive with < 8 gb per drive. And while you are trying the second method, leave the smaller hard drive as the boot drive.

There should be a hard drive overlay program on the startup disk that came with your new drive, if not you should be able to download one from your hard drive manufacture's web site. That should cure the problem.
