Please Photoshop experts, help me out with this problem:

*) We need Adobe Photoshop for a print quality analysis:
Adobe Photohop features a histrogram function: But how do I get the values of this histogram function into a text data file? I write down the values manually, but this costs a LOT of time, since we have to do many measurements....

Please I beg you, help me out, show me some alternative software or give me the missing hint.... :)

Greetings and very thanks for your help!

*bump* me too....

Well exactly I need the following values (I select an image area --> then I choose "histogram"):

*) standard deviation
*) average value
*) centralworth

I don't know if this is translated correctly, but all these values are returned by the "histogram" function --> Now I need to store them in a text file!

Thanks for your help in advance....

Hi there,

Check out ImageJ (bottom link on the page) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Well first, thanks very much, it's a very good first aproach, this little Java Program helps me a lot.

But there are some problems which are still unsolved:
  • ImageJ features histogram data output, but only for the luminance channel!
It's not automated, so I still have to do : open image, histogram, output manually

The best would be a DLL usable in MS Visual C++ or a Photoshop plugin which features builtin histogram routines!

If you can help me with this, this would be very kind of you.... :)

Thanks for your help in advance...
