Urgent: Looking for good Camcorder

Hi I'm in urgent need of information on which Camcorder is good as far as brand, Model, and whether to buy Digital8, DV or DVD to record on. Also need to have long recording time on media, its for a Doctor to record a surgery.

If some one can point me in the right direction for reviews or know a model that is very good, I will really appreciate the information.

well if this thing is to be used alot (3-4 times a week) I would go with a decent prosumer type camera such as a Panny DC30, Sony VX1000, or a Canon GL2, and if he needs to record more than an hour at a time grab one of those new HD recorders to attach with the camera with a 40gb HD in it
