URGENT HELP

I helped a friend build a PC based on a Gigabyte P35-DS3L

The problem we have run into is the BIOS detects the IDE DVD-ROM and Windows is a little finicky with it. Windows itself was installed with this drive so it leads me to believe it could be a driver issue.

Vista 64-bit is what he's using.

We've used different IDE cables, and a different drive. We get about the same results every time, with the MOBO/BIOS detecting the drive (even saying "click to boot from cd-rom") but as soon as Windows boots it's a no go.

Thanks for the help.
