urgent help needed!

I'm installing a new P4 CPU with a Zalman 7000AlCu, and I'm having some trouble.

It says I have to screw in each side progressively until the clip is touching the clip supports on both sides.

On one side, it's almost touching, but on the other, it's like, half a cm or so (a bit less maybe) off, and the clip support can still move about, etc. The screw refuses to go further. It's pretty clumsy and I'm worried that I'm doing something very wrong...

UPDATE: Ok the one clip that is refusing to get screwed in is not threaded... it's only partially threaded (like drilled with the wavy pattern thing...).

Should I force the screw in anyhow? This is so annoying.

nooooo it just broke, i guess i'll use the stock HSF for now and send this POS back in for a replacement

I feel like shiat becouse you yust broke that!
Well I took out the faulty clip and I tried to thread it with a guinea pig screw (it came with 2 extra ones). A few forceful turns, and the screw broke, leaving half of it in there. There's no way I was going to force anything around the mobo or CPU.

I took out the Zalman (I hope I can get replacement parts for the clips, it's nothing expensive, really), and put in the stock HSF for now... but I'm cringing at how loud it's gonna be.

It's nothing more than a pain in the rear, to have to ask for a replacement for the Zalman...
