ok my hd spontaneously decides to stop working...fine...
i check it out and one of the 80pins is broken and the ps cables are kinda loose too...fine, i weld them all together and they work...for 4 days. i havent touched it and it wont even recognise the drive anymore =(

wtf?!!? it ids the drive as "yyyzzzzzzzz" at the bios... with half of its capacity....help plzz
 
Hmmm. Why did you keep using it after the pin broke? I hope you at least backed everything up. Sounds like it was on its way out and it gave you fair warning. I'd say its dead. Did you try a new IDE cable?
