Urgent gas can question

Found an old rubbermaid 1.25 gal plastic gas [non-CARB compliant] can at the back of my folks' storage shed. It had about 3/4 gal left in it, from maybe 2 yrs ago. It was discreetly dumped in my back woods on this nice windy day [don't tell the epa].

Can I safely put in new fresh gas & use it in my brand new snow blower this week without worry of old gunk possibly gumming up the new blower's carburetor?

Or do I need to clean out the old gas can with something first, before filling it with fresh gas & stabilizer?

I was told that the old gas most likely did not have any added stabilizer.

Thanks
