Urgent cooking question! About rice!

depends on the rice. short grain asian white rice i use 1:1 ratio. jasmine long graind rice i usually use 1:2 or 1:1.5 ratio.

You COULD put the rice and chicken in the rice cooker and cook it that way. Add some veggies, seasonings and the San Francisco treat ain't got nuttin over that dish!

this the guide i use, for just regular rice cooking on the stove

wash rice make sure rice is spread out even in bottom of pan, put enough water in so that when you stick your index finger into the water, the tip of your finger should hit the top of the rice and the water line should be at the first joint in your finger. I hope that made sense.

I would always use 2:1. I don't use a pressure cooker, but it can't make much of a difference.

He's using a rice cooker not a pressure cooker, it's like a crock pot designed to make rice.

Actually I usually use more like 2 cups water for each cup of rice in a rice cooker. Use less if using a pressure cooker or you'll get mushy rice.

However, given the number of people who mentioned the 1:1 ratio, I am going to try it to see which one works better for me.

Your method depends on the area of your pot or thing.

Sometimes I add a little butter and/or salt. I tried curry powder once, wasn't too bad.
