URGENT::: Adaptec Easy CD Creater screwed up my registry!!!

Now I can't use my CD Burner, and its the only CD drive installed ATM so this sucks!

I tried a registry fix off Microsoft's knowledge base, but it didn't help at all. Deleting and reinstalling the drive doesn't help. I'm not about to reinstall win2k over something like this, surely there must be a way to fix it??

try eliminate the easy cd creator from the registry totally. Also redetect you burner with hard detection.

Well, my CD drive reappeared but it appears under "Unknown devices" now no matter how many times I delete/reinstall it. This is driving me crazy... this is URGENT people! I need to fix this. I don't want to have to reinstall

I think I figured it out, but it took some hacking around of the registry.
Stupid adaptec...

haha ezcd creator 5 uninstall screwed my system. i run win98se on this system. and when i uninstalled ezcd, it screwed up explorer. i could not even boot.

it's always screwed up my systems, before i moved to nero that is. it's pretty amazing that they even stay in business, though adaptec did spin it off into roxio. no one that i know uses them anymore, even just at the non computer literate consumer level.

The CD burning software included in Windows XP is from Roxio.
