URGENT! About to buy a new GeForce2

Hi guys,

I'm about to buy my new video card, a GeForce2.

I'm between:

- Elsa GLADIAC 32MB ($259.99 w/ shipping)
- Guillemot Prophet II 32MB ($288.00 w/ shipping)

The difference (I think) is that the Guillemot has a TV Out feature. I don't know if the GLADIAC has one. What do you guys think?

Please, I need to make up my mind in a few minutes.

Do you need TV-Out? If so, get the Prophet. If not, get the GLADIAC. You will see no performance difference (or very very little in favor of the prophet)

The Elsa card doesn't have TV-out. I would go with the Gladiac if I were you. TV-out is only good when you have a big TV to play on. And even then you usually can't go higher than 800x600. It's only about a $28 difference between the two, but I think that TV-out is a pretty useless feature. All it does is just increases the price of the card.

I have this big screen TV (32&quot and I have to say the I'm curious, to say the least, to see some good games on this one.

Ok. Now, about drivers. Do you know if the Elsa has good reputation in regard to drivers?

Games are useless on a TV. I only play games I have on an emulator and DVDs on my TV. If you have a DVD player in your comp, then TV-Out is a little more useful.

I enjoyed playing Soccer with some friends in a big TV once!

It seems there is an addon daughter card I could buy later to add TV in/out to this GLADIAC board.

I think I will go ELSA!

I agree....TV out isn't very important to me, but video in would be cool; moreover, ELSA offers an add-on board that has both TV-out/Video-in...


I just got my new Gladiac this week and love it...A much welcomed upgrade from my ol' Rage Fury, which is crap, IMHO!

Also, I used the "legit" $30.00 off $150.00 or more buy.com coupon, so got it for $229.00 + a nominal shipping charge.
