urgent, 200gb hard drive is unreadable

hey i just switched from windows xp to windows 2000 with sp3 , and now my 200gb hard drive is unreadable under windows2000. i also switched the disk from primary to secondary ide before the windows 2000 installation, because i realized i had it on the wrong channel. please help, i can't afford to lose any data from this hard drive. thanks in advance.

That makes all the difference in the world, more likely than not. You may need to "reimport" the disk or whatever it's called. As I stear clear or dynamic discs for such reasons as these I can't say as that I recall. Did you try to find a solution at the Microsoft Knowledge Base? More often than not it is a very helpful place to start with Microsoft's products.
