Parked on the street outside my house last night. Walked outside to drive to work this morning and the driver's side mirror was pushed forward, several gouges in the end of the bumper, and some more cosmetic scratches running down the door. It's been exactly 5 days since I drove off the dealership lot - 167 miles on the odometer

If any drunk drivers in Boulder hit a white car last night, go DIAF.

I would be furious...

No garage??? I don't think I would even keep my car if I had to park on the street nightly.

When I bought my Mazda3, it just took 2 weeks to get it scratched and dented. Some people just do not care.

Nope, no garage. Roommates had both spots in the driveway so I put it on the street, which is GENEROUSLY wide. The only explaination is some drunk asshole between 12am and 9am.

Vincent: What's more chickensh*t than f*cking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't f*ck with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

I'm sure it was an obese SUV driver distracted by the low quality interior of their domestic product.

I would not care about a Mazda3 either.

Ouch, sorry to hear that.

Are you sure it wasn't a bike rider? I had my drivers sideview mirror pushed forward, mirrorbroken, and a long scratch-dent ( handle bar end ?) on drivers door about 1.5 feet long that I assume was from a bike rider.
Not sure about the gouges in the bumper but it is hard for me to picture a car not doing more damage if it was that close.

I'll try to post pics later, but I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow morning. The body shop quoted me $1700. There is a wide scuff along the front half of the drivers side door, and a small dent in the panel next to the wheel well. There is also a scuff/scratch above the mirror. The mirror isn't really damaged at all, so my theory is that this was an SUV and their mirror was so much higher that the scratch above my mirror is from that. On the front fender is some blue paint, and 2 vertical gouges that go straight into the bumper and the fog lamp below it. Oddly enough the vertical gouges are as if the cuts were made against the direction of the impact, as if the person threw it in reverse while stuck against the bumper.

I dunno I suppose it's possible. Doesn't really matter either way though, I'm still out a $500 deductible.

I had a scratch on my month old car too. There was also a smashed driverside window and broken glass all over the interior.

Cheers!
