I've got a KT3-Ultra2 and an Athlon XP 2400. I wasn't able to overclock much higher than 2100mhz. My chip runs way hot and it just wasn't stable at that speed. I could probably do 2050mhz stable but the amount of performace gain I'd see with that would be pretty minimal so I just dropped back to 2ghz. You have better luck with your overclocking? I think the board comes with a utility called Fuzzy Logic that will find the highest overclock speed for you.

I've got the same setup. Frankly everything I've read was so discouraging that I have'nt bothered to OC it. Give it a shot and post back. :)

I have a KT3U2 and XP1700+ along with 2 sticks of Samsung TCB3 Dimms

I am currently running at 172 X 11.5 = 1978Mhz

Solid as a rock..

I really like the board..

I run both my KT3 Ultra 2's at 166x12 for 2.00 Ghz with XP1700+ "B" Thoroughbred CPU's. They have been very stable reliable boards. As for your overclocking potential, it depends more on your CPU and cooling solutions than the motherboard. The KT3 Ultra 2 can handle it, as long as you don't go too far over 166 on the fsb, since it only has the 1/5 PCI bus divider and the 2/5 divider for the AGP bus. I have been content to run mine at 166 with PC-2700 ram.

I have used this motherboard for a while until I replaced it with an Nforce2 mobo... I encountered three problems with overclocking:
1) I started with a weak 350W cheap PSU.... had to replace it with a slightly better one to get read of the ripple component on the 5V and 12V lines, when used with all the components and an overclocked Athlon XP (any of them).
2) Athlon XP2000+ turned out to be a lousy overclocker.. overclocked only 10% on the Kt3 Ultra2 and a tad higher on a KT333 Epox board.
3) The Kt3 Ultra2 turned out to be a lousy overlocker... My KT333 based Epox board overclocks great with an XP2100+ (2100Mhz with stock core voltage...) and my NF2 board runs at 200 Mhz FSB.... THe KT3-Ultra adjusts that high but would not run above FSB of 167... Even with PC3200 memory...
