Upset at Conroe delays

Have any companies actually shipped Conroe systems?

I ordered from CyberpowerPC 7/28 and now my latest estimate is 8/22. I don't want to build it myself, but this is getting ridiculous.

If I can find a place that can build and ship within a few days, I'll cancel with Cyberpower and order from someone else.

Good luck.

Not saying you made a mistake, but there is generally a healthy delay between when a product is announced vs when it ships, and the real reality of when it ships in volume.

Waiting a few weeks might have offered more options to choose from and less wait on shipping.

How did they get pwned? They get twice as much cache and a great chip to overclock. I plan on getting an E6600 as soon as supplies are decent. I do video and photo editing, the extra 2MB of cache is great.

Quote from AT articles:

"Once again, with these 2MB parts the performance advantage isn't nearly as impressive as with the 4MB parts (partly due to the fact that their native clock speed is lower, in addition to the smaller L2 cache)"

"The 2.4GHz E6600, which outperformed the FX-62 in most benchmarks at stock speed costs $316, and overclocked to 4Ghz with excellent air cooling. With that kind of performance, value, and overclocking the E6600 will likely become the preferred chip for serious overclockers - particularly those that are looking for champagne performance on a smaller budget."

Yeah those people really got "pwned".
