Upscaling DVD players vs. Progressive Scan

I'm taking the plunge to HDTV soon and will be upgrading my dvd player as well. I'm not going to go HD-DVD or BR quite yet (perhaps next year) but am wondering if a line doubling dvd player is worth the premium over a progressive scan one. Any thoughts?

I use my XBox-360 which upconverts the DVD to HD-res, and outputs in progressive mode (720p).

Upscaling players can be good and may give you a better picture than a standard PS dvd player. Using DVI or HDMI keeps the signal digital, the scaling may also match your TV's native resolution which also helps.
They've gotten so cheap now that you might as well get one.

upscaling. its one less conversion for your tv to do:p the earlier its done the better. progressive aloneis ok, but unless your tv is 480p its not optimal

Sorry, but unless you are using VGA on your 360, nothing is being upconverted.
