UPS wants me to pay $5 to delay delivery.

I ordered something from B&H and I made sure the delivery day was going to be after Christmas. Well... B&H got super motivated and decided to ship the order I placed at 6PM their time that day, so now UPS is going to try to deliver the package a on Friday before Christmas when no one is going to be here for 4 days. I decided to be nice and try to delay the delivery so the UPS driver wouldn't waste his time, but UPS charges $5 to keep the package on the truck for another day. Are they crazy? I'm not going to spend $5 to save them money.

UPS is a logistics company, if they want you to get your package early, there's certainly a reason so (room in warehouse, in your area, etc), so saying you're saving them money is likely not actually the case.

Also, why would contacting B&H do any good? Once it's out of their hands they don't give two shits.

Anyways, why don't you just have it diverted to a UPS store, and they'll hold it for an additional 3 days after delivery. Problem solved.

Next time order with free shipping from Amazon and you won't have this problem.

Amazon's Sunday delivery really sucks for me. I have all my packages sent to work and I work in an office building. The building is locked Sunday, so USPS will just leave packages outside the front door. The only reason I'm not too nervous about this shipment from B&H is that it's coming from UPS, so they should just hold in until after Christmas.

But yeah... I get what you are saying about the delivery speed of free super saver shipping. I try not to orerder anything from Tuesday to Friday because those seem to be the to times when I'm most likely to get a Sunday delivery. I have changed my settings so that I shouldn't get Sunday delivery, but I don't trust the USPS to get it right.

I think you guys missed the first world problem thread. The whining doesn't have any more impact in it's own thread, at least not to the sane.

Better than my UPS delivery. I've been at my office all day waiting for delivery and I get an alert saying that there's no one to sign for my package..
