UPS Suggestion

Apologies if this topic is in the wrong forum.

Regarding UPS, is it a case of "as long it works", or would there be certain specs that I should be aware of. If there is a quality difference, what is it specifically? And what price range are acceptable UPS suppose to fall under? I'm looking to buy one for my desktop (550W PSU, monitor) as well as acting as a power strip for a couple other minor items.

Thank you for your time.

budget? what do you want it to protect from? how long do you want it to stay powered on for on battery? Do you have unhealthy power? (surges/lower then acceptable power/etc)

generally anything made by APC is pretty good.

Cost below $200, preferably around $100.

Nothing specific to protect from. Just want one for precautionary reasons. Does not need to stay on for longer than a couple of minutes. Unsure if power is unhealthy, although not particularly comfortable because my new place is fairly old.
