Ok, my apologies to you UPS employees out there, but man I am pissed. For the umpteenth time now they have lost my package!!

Since I am the one ordering the shipment the people who I ordered from use UPS, and as a customer I have no choice in the delivery method. Ugh!

I pay extra to get it here fast.. but it never fails my packages get here later than the promised time, and for what I paid for. Sooo I have to go through the hassle of calling the company and complaining that I paid XX amount of money for one day or two day delivery which I did not recieve and ask for a refund... etc, etc.

On top of that today once again, my package is late. I look up the tracking and see no info. I call UPS and they say they have lost the package. They tell me I have to call the company that sent it and have them put a tracer on the package. I ask UPS what exactly is a tracer? They say it is when they send a person out to look for the package and check who scanned it in last. I say to the customer service rep, why can't they do that now? Why do they need the company who shipped it to tell them to do that? Does that cost the shipper extra money or something? They say no, its just policy. WTF??? I then ask well, then can the receiver of the package ask you to do that? No, only the shipper can ask us to do this. GAWD!!! Frustrating...

UPS sucks... Thats all I gotta say... and I think the companies that utilize them must be getting some cheap benefit for utilizing their crappy service.

Ok rant over....

I had to drive out to their distribution center, wait an hour in line, only to find out that the driver never 'pulled the package'. Pissed me off to no end, especially since I had planned on using that package (laptop) to work that weekend.

Fedex LOST my package, two death hammocks from woot.

that's never happened with ups, and whenever I have a choice, I'll always use UPS and will never use fedex again.

Yeah that is policy. The shipper gets the power to decide what UPS has to do as they PAID for the shipping.

You are basically the receiver.

But i've seen that most of the time they just put a tracer when it is lost without having to contact the shipper

I get my packages on time, but I hate that they dump the package on my porch and take off. They don't even bother to ring the doorbell or knock so I at least know it's there and can go get it. Package could be sitting there for hours or even get stolen since I don't know it's there.

Can I add a story?

My fiancee's engagement ring was overnighted through ups. I was supposed to leave that night to meet her up state at her rent's house. I come home from work with a note on my door "Sorry we missed you etc." (Time=3:00pm) So I call the number and talk to the lady, she asks me for the number on my paper, she tells me that she will call me back(Time=3:15pm). I get a call back from ups(Time=4:30) They tell me that I won't be able to pick my package up until 8:00pm. I am upset but say ok whatever that I understand the driver is still out since freaking 10A.M the time my slip said and that 1 driver works from 10am til 8pm. So I arrive at the package place at 8:00pm and wait, The driver finally comes in(9:00pm), Truck is emptied(9:30), desk lady tells me that they didn't find my package(10:00pm) I say to her I am not leaving until the package is in my hands that I will search for it myself, UPS Search team involving 3 people including a manager go through 1 truck to find a package, they find it at (12:00pm) Their excuse "The driver didn't do what he was supposed to do" I love it!

 to UPS!

I hate the San Pablo distro center. It's like next to a freaking prison or something. Oh well. Sunnyvale distro center FTW!

That said, UPS is pretty nice. They got my package from LA to Sunnyvale at 5:30 AM, and loaded up at 6:30AM for delivery in the morning to me =).

Fedex on the other hand is RETARDED. Everytime I get 2nd day for my RMA stuff, it takes them 2 fvcking days to deliver across the Bay Area. OCZ is located in Sunnyvale, and it takes Fedex 2 days to deliver to Berkeley. They'll leave the package in OAKLAND for one WHOLE FVCKING DAY just because its 2 day delivery. UPS never does that. They get it to you as fast as possible.

May 4, 2006
12:36 PM Delivered Berkeley, CA
7:46 AM On FedEx vehicle for delivery EMERYVILLE, CA
7:11 AM At local FedEx facility EMERYVILLE, CA
May 3, 2006
7:30 PM Departed FedEx location OAKLAND, CA
May 2, 2006
8:11 PM Arrived at FedEx location OAKLAND, CA
7:20 PM Left origin SUNNYVALE, CA
6:22 PM Package data transmitted to FedEx
4:43 PM Picked up SUNNYVALE, CA

WOW May 3rd for moving from Oakland to Emeryville. I swear I could do that walking in 30 min.
