I am looking at my order invoice and noticed they used "UPS Commercial" to ship my package to my home. I am wondering if this will cause delays as commercial is used for business,

Anybody, will they still attempt delivery. makes me wonder as I do recall earlier in the day the dell rep asking if my order was for a business because that was what was listed. I tell you, I am starting to think online ordering through dell sucks.

Hmm, thats odd.

Just what did you order? I wouldn't think they'd go commercial unless you either had a commercial account that you would be using, or if it was a very large item (like maybe a rack server).

How did you order anyways that a Dell rep was talking to you? Did you do it through chat?

I suppose they would attempt delivery, but I don't know, I've never dealt with that part of UPS.

I originally called the rep because there was a processor discrepancy from the online cart and the email invoice. I ordered a e1705 laptop and a laptop bag, The bag I see was shipped using Airborne, and the laptop says UPS commercial. When I ordered I setup up a personal account and used my American Express card and received some sort of discount on shipping, bascially some sort of free shipping promo they had going.

Being a small town, I believe the same driver does commercial in the midday and completes residential in the afternoon, I usually see two trucks going through town each day.

Dell Outlet Customers: Get FREE 3-5 day ground shipping on any refurbished Inspiron notebook! $24 shipping and handling included.

This is the promo that was being run, my only guess is this is the default shipping for everyone at the moment so it saves Dell money, since commercial is cheaper then residential.

UPS Commercial and Residential are the same shipping method. Residential just costs the shipper $1.25 more (though dell probably has a better deal worked out). The package will be on the same truck as other packages from both businesses and residences in your neighborhood.

Ty for a very cogent reponse. I was able to learn you put "1Z" in front of your Dell invoice waybill number and that is your tracking number. My package is in Mesquite Texas as of 9pm this evening. Scheduled for delivery Friday the 23rd in Southern California.
